Chasing the wind, vanity, vanity, nothing is new under the sun, these are the words of a wise man.
We work all day we sleep all night and get up and do it all over again, until we die and leave it all behind, that is chasing for the wind.
We try to find pleasure amongst the pain but we still search in the wrong places generation after generation, like a dog returning to its vomit, nothing is new under the sun.
Sex, money, power, health maybe pleasurable for a season but you still want more and then we become slaves to a bottomless pit of need, this vanity, vanity selfish pleasure that will not last.
So what is worth living for? Why should I try? Maybe I should just lay down and die?
A man who works hard sleeps well no matter how little or much he eats, but a wealthy man who's belly is full he will not be able to sleep.
We may be cursed as a race but still there is hope and his name is Jesus Christ, make him the love of your life and you will have meaning and purpose.
